Library Conduct and Procedure

  1. The library is open to all students, members of the Faculty and Staff of the University for six days a week.
  2. Every student entering the Library must present his/her identification card. He/she is expected to leave his/her bag, backpack and the like in the shelf provided for. Upon leaving the library he/she must present his/her things to the librarian at the exit.
  3. Maximum silence inside the library must be observed by all students at all times.
  4. Student should refrain from vandalizing library properties. They should be not write or make marks on the table, chairs, or walls. They are expected to handle the books and other library materials with utmost care.
  5. Student should not clip, tear or mutilate any book, magazine, or pamphlet. Anyone found violating this rules shall be made to pay a sum equal to the full value of the materials mutilated and shall forfeit all library privileges for one week. Repetition of this offense will be subject to the disciplinary action by the Disciplinary Board.
  1. Student should push their chair against the table before leaving and should use the waste basket in disposing their waste paper.
  1. Every bonafide student of the University shall be issued identification card which is non-transferable. Any student who lends his/her identification card or uses the identification card of others is subject to disciplinary action.

Circulation, Fines and Others

  1. Non-fiction books can be borrowed for a day and fiction books for seven days. Each student is entitled to maximum of two books at a time. Fine shall be imposed for overdue book at the rate of two pesos (P2.00) per day for non-fiction and fifty centavos (P0.50) for fiction.
  1. Reference books such as encyclopedias dictionary, year books, atlases, sets and the like are to be read inside the Library only.
  1. Books put on Reserve by members of the teaching staff of their student during the semester are lent for use in the library only except those on overnight loans. These are issued one at a time for one hour each to students upon application at the Reserve Section. A borrower may renew a book as many times as necessary provided that there are no requests for the same. Books for overnight loans must be taken out of the library starting at 4:00 PM. In case the book is not returned within the loan period, fine shall be imposed at the rate of one pesos (P1.00) for the first hour and fifty centavos (P0.50) for the succeeding hours of five pesos (P5.00) per day.
  1. Periodicals whether current or back issue and other non-book materials are to be read in the library only.
  2. When a book is lost or not returned at reasonable time after notice has been sent, the borrower must replace it with equally good condition as the one lost. In case it is out of print the borrower shall pay the current price of the book including the mailing cost as estimated by the Supply Officer.
  1. Students who willfully refuse or neglect to fulfill their Library obligation shall forfeit the privilege of using the Library.
  1. The library is open to students or employees of other institutions who are engaged in RESEARCH if granted the privilege by the University Librarian and after paying the regular Library fee.
  1. Observance of the LIBRARY RULES AND PROCEDURES is required.
