Admission Policies
All first year applicants
and transferees to the College Level must present their
report card or Form 138 to the Committee on admission
General Admission Policies
No student shall be
denied admission to the State College by reason of race,
age, sex, socio-economic status, religious belief,
political affiliation, beliefs or ideology for the
degree course and other requirements of the college.
Every applicant for
admission shall be required to pass physical, medical
and other necessary examinations conducted by the school
physician.
The College may accept
foreign students subject to existing laws of the
country.
Transfer Students
Generally, a transferee from other colleges, follows the
regular admission procedures. However, his/her academic
records are reviewed by the Supervisor of Records and
Admission/Registrar and approval by the President. Only
Subjects with the grade of 2.5 (80%) or better for the
undergraduate level and 1.75% or better for the graduate
level will be credited.
Returning Students
On a case to case basis and subject to the approval of
the President upon the recommendations of the Dean and
the Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs/Technology and
Engineering, students who failed in any one subject may
not be accepted in the next enrollment, but will be
advised to transfer or shift to a vocational or
continuing program.
No student should be allowed to take higher level
subjects if he/she has not taken the prerequisites.
Students who have been subjected to diplomacy action may
be allowed to enroll under probation as approved by the
President upon the recommendation of the Director of
Student Services and the Director of Guidance Services.
However, commission of the same offense or other breach
of the College rules and regulations, will mean
dismissal. |
Registration
As a general rule, no student shall be allowed to
register after the last day of registration in the
calendar, but in meritorious cases registration may be
granted five(5) days after the last day of registration.
Cross Registration
Cross-enrollment to other schools is allowed during the
regular semester only for graduating students whose
subjects are not offered in NORSU during the semester
but offered in other schools. Cross-enrollment requires
the permission of the Dean concerned and the registrar.
No student enrolled in another Institution shall be
allowed to cross in NORSU without a written permit from
the appropriate official of the institution where the
student comes from. The permit shall state the number of
units for which the student shall register and the
subject/s he/she is authorized to cross-enroll in.
The total number of units or credits for which a student
may register in another educational institution shall
not exceed the maximum allowed by the rules on academic
loading.
Transfer credits shall be given to course(s) taken by
the student in an accredited institution upon the
recommendation of the Dean, subject to the final
assessment of the Supervisor of Admission and
Records/Registrar and approval of the President of the
institution to which credits are being transferred.
Cancellation of Enrollment
A student will not be allowed to cancel his enrollment
without the written consent of this parents or guardian.
